Mental Health Coalition

Project Term: 12 months; Ended 2018
Grant Amount: $25,000

This project’s goal was to establish a community mental health coalition (led by the county health department and including mental health and medical providers, law enforcement, and schools) to develop a behavioral health strategic plan to assess current needs and available services. The coalition was successfully established, met regularly, developed and approved a community-wide strategic plan for behavioral health, and became an Elevate Montana Affiliate so that they could work towards creating a trauma-informed community. The mental health coalition also successfully established care coordination for schools and mental health providers to better identify and link existing organizations and resources. Finally, the coalition now has a trained mental health first aid instructor who will continue to provide training, education, and information to the community.
